As a volunteer driven community centre, our volunteers are central to everything we do. You will find our friendly volunteers throughout the centre at the reception, garden, kitchen and as tutors running our courses. All our staff are vital to our success as a dynamic and thriving centre that meets the needs of our growing community.
A number of rewarding volunteer roles are available within our centre including:
Our reception staff greet members of the community and connect them to the services they need. They also undertake other duties to assist in the general running of the centre including cleaning of the facilities, assisting with the shower and laundry service and general administration and program support.
Our garden volunteers take part in seasonal planting of produce from seed, garden and grounds maintenance including weeding, watering, fertilising, mowing and pruning. They are also involved in garden planning, composting and harvesting fruits and vegetables. Our gardeners also maintain our flowers and non-producing plants, including potting plants for sale.
Our exceptional volunteers co-ordinate much needed food support for our community. Volunteers collect bread, bakery items and general groceries from our generous community partners and distribute them at the centre.
Food support is available to our community on a daily basis from the Centre thanks to this program.
We have a great team of friendly and talented tutors and facilitators who specialise in sharing their skills and knowledge with course participants through a range of programs. We are always open to new ideas and courses, so if there is something you want to try, or have a talent you would like to share please let us know.
There are always plenty of areas that need that extra bit of support, and our wonderful General Maintenance team certainly provides that. They make sure our rooms are ready for courses, classes or facility hire, and if something needs fixing, they ensure it gets done.

Jade and Sarah have been with the Murray Bridge Community Centre since 2016 and are committed to continuing to improve the centre and the programs we offer. Part of this included the introduction of the community shower and laundry, food support and assistance, and many of the other programs available at the centre today.
